The Chief Minister of Delhi Mrs. Shiela Dikshit visited the NCC Republic Day Camp in Delhi today. She inspected a guard of honour presented by a contingent of immaculately turned out cadets from Army, Navy and Air Force. Mrs Dikshit was deeply impressed by the discipline, unity and patriotism exhibited by the cadets. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister acknowledged the role of NCC in grooming illustrious citizens of tomorrow and added "India's future is in safe hands." She applauded the role being played by the NCC Cadets in helping Tsunami victims and in carrying out various social works. The contribution of rupee one per cadet of NCC amounting to rupees 13 lakhs for Tsunami victims was appreciated by her. The Chief Minister exhorted cadets to do their best in conservation of environment & resources to make India a country of our dreams.
Mrs. Dikshit visited the flag area, the Motivation Hall Ship and Aero Modeling Halls, where models of ships and aeroplanes of various kinds made by cadets were in display. She showed keen interest in all the activities, listened to the briefing of cadets and had all appreciation for the NCC cadets
