The President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will visit Ahmedabad on January 4th and 5th to attend a number of programmes in the city.
Dr. Kalam will arrive in Ahmedabad on the evening of January 4th and attend programmes in the city on January 5th. He will address the 92nd Indian Science Congress at Nirma University and will also have an interaction with children there. The President’s other functions include a visit to Darpana Academy of Performing Arts where he will witness a multimedia presentation on the Academy’s activities as well as live demonstration by its artists, a visit to the Environmental Sanitation Institute, where after being briefed about the Institute’s activities he will have an interaction with grassroot sanitation workers of Gujarat. Later in the day Dr. Kalam will address the 25th Convocation of the National Institute of Design and will also dedicate the institute’s Design Vision Centre to the Nation and will also have an interaction with faculty and students. The President’s last function in the city will be the presentation of the awards of the National Innovation Foundation.
The President will return to New Delhi late at night on January 5th.
