Shri Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, Union Minister of Water Resources has stated that there is no scarcity of drinking water supply in relief camps in Port Blair. All technical assistance from Central Ground Water Board has been placed at the disposal of Tamil Nadu Government and Andaman and Nicobar Island Administration, the Minister added. Shri Dasmunsi who concluded his two-day visit to Tsunami affected area of A & N Islands, today, is also expected to visit Tsunami affected areas in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.

The Water Resources Minister has directed engineers of Central Ground Water Board to complete a quick survey for boring wells through rigs in Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the earliest. Shri Das Munshi also discussion this issue with the Tamil Nadu Minister for PWD and Irrigation whom he met in Chennai today on the matter.
