Monday, January 17, 2005

The Government has now decided to dispense with the All India MCA Common Entrance Test (AIMCET) with immediate effect.

Accordingly, the IIT, Roorkee has been allowed to conduct its own Joint Admission Test for Management (JAM) for admission to MCA programmes in IITs for the year 2005-06 onwards.

All the Central/Deemed Universities may conduct their own Entrance Exam and admit students in a fair and transparent manner. All State Governments shall continue to hold their own Common Entrance Test for admission to MCA programmes in the Institutes within their States as before. All Private Institutions shall also be allowed to join their respective State level Common Entrance Test or may conduct their own entrance test in fair and transparent manner.
