Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL), Nagpur, Maharashtra, a public sector unit of the Ministry of Mines, carried out drilling of 15,370 meters and mining of 613 meters in December 2004 against the targets of 13,600 meters and 525 meters respectively. The cumulative drilling and mining by the company during April to December, 2004, has been 1,16,332 meters and 4,791 meters against 1,13,421 meters and 2,270 meters respectively during the same period last year.
