In response to the call by the Prime Minister for donations, the Public Sector General Insurance Companies have donated Rs.3 crore to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.
The cheques for Rs. 1 crore from General Insurance Corporation and for Rs. 50 lakhs each from New India Assurance, United India Insurance, National Insurance and Oriental Insurance companies have been presented to the Finance Minister, Shri P. Chidambaram
