A Meeting between India and Pakistan at the level of Secretary (Water Resources) is being held at New Delhi on 4th & 5th January, 2005 to Resolve issues relating to the 450 MW Baglihar H.E. Project across river Chenab in Jammu & Kashmir. The last Secretary level meting was held in June 2004 and ways and means to resolve the issue were formulated. Subsequently, a list of additional data/information was requested by Pakistan. India furnished all possible data/information/drawings on 15th December, 2004.

Pakistan’s objections are yet to be substantiated quantitatively from technical stand point which would be main agenda for the scheduled meeting. Pakistan delegation will have 9 members led by Mr. Ashfaq Mahmood, Secretary (Water & Power) Government of Pakistan. The 12 member Indian delegation will be led by Shri V.K. Duggal, Secretary (Water Resources), Government of India.
