Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Ministry of Defence undertaking has contributed a sum Rs. 3.40 crore to the Prime Minister Relief Fund to provide a relief to the persons affected by Tsunami. Shri Ashok K Baweja, Chairman, HAL handed over a cheque or Rs. 3.40 crore to Defence Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on Saturday, 01 Jan 2005.
Aircraft and helicopters manufactured by HAL are already flying extensively to provide relief to the victims in all the affected areas. As a mark of solidarity with the entire nation, all employees of HAL and the management have made this contribution to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
