The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the proposal for providing financial assistance for upgradation and strengthening of emergency facilities in Government hospitals located on National Highways. This will be a Centrally sponsored scheme with an outlay of Rs.110 crore during the Tenth Plan period, out of which a grant of upto Rs.1.5 crore would be provided to government hospitals located on National Highways for the identified components as per their requirements for upgradation and strengthening of their emergency facilities.
This will ensure proper medical care to the accident victims in time, saving priceless lives and also avoiding/minimising disabilities.
