The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority has revised /fixed the prices of 99 formulation packs as on 4th January,2005. Of these, ceiling prices in respect of 51 formulation packs have been fixed under DPCO, 1995, based on bulk drugs, Analgin(four packs), Vitamin – C/Vitamin-E (23 pack) Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin/Lactic Acid Bacillus ( 10 packs), ICHQ (nine packs), Vitamin-A (2 packs), Ibuprofen + Paracetamol ( 1 pack), Acetaminophen + Pseudoephedrine + CPM ( 1 pack). The prices of 48 non ceiling packs which includes 11 imported Insulin formulations, have also been fixed by the NPPA.
The prices have been fixed/revised in accordance with the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order (DPCO, 1995) and as per the established criteria and guidelines. Also, while fixing these prices, NPPA has considered the revised norms of Conversion cost , Packing charges, Packing material cost and process loss.
The prices fixed/revised would become effective within 15 days from the date of notification in the Official Gazette or receipt of the Non-ceiling, price (NCP) order of the NPPA in this behalf. Necessary revised price list is to be issued by the manufacturers/importers required under Sub-Paragraph 3 of Paragraph 14 of the DPCO/1995. Accordingly , as per the provision, the revised price list in Form V of the DPCO is to be furnished by the concerned manufacturers to the Government and NPPA, State Drug Control Authorities and distributors, whole sellers and retailers or any other agents.
