On the occasion of 350th anniversary of the Taj Mahal, Ministry of Culture is organizing an open Essay Competition in Hindi for school children on an all India basis. It will be conducted under two categories - Junior and Senior.
The participation in the junior category is restricted to students of class 6-8. The topics are, Jagat ka Achraj Taj; and Jab Maine Dekha Taj Mahal. Students will be required to write an essay of about 300 words on any one of the topics mentioned above.
In the senior category, students of Class 9 to 12 can take part. For them the topics are, Taj Mahal-Vishwa Ko Prem Ka Anutha Uphar; Taj Mahal ki Sthapatya Kala; and Meri Nazar mein Taj Mahal. Students in the senior category will be required to write an essay of about 500 words on anyone of the said topics.
In each category, a first prize of Rs.5000/-, a second prize of Rs.3000/- and three consolation prizes (each of Rs.1000/-) will be awarded. The last date for submission of the essay is 15th February, 2005. Participating students may send their essays along with the Entry Form in the prescribed proforma duly filled in and certified by the Principal of the school concerned to Smt.
