Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Steel, today presented cheques for Rs.4,00,73,406 (Rupees four crore seventy-three thousand four hundred six only) on behalf of the Department of Fertilizers towards the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the relief operations in the aftermath of the Tsunami disaster in southern parts of the country. The amount includes contributions from the employees of the Department of Fertilizers as also of various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under it who have contributed a day’s salary for the cause.
Shri Paswan expressed deep gratitude towards the management and employees of all the fertilizers PSUs, Cooperatives and the employees of the Department of Fertilizers who came forward and donated generously for meeting the challenge being faced by the country in providing relief to the victims of the Tsunami calamity.
