The Union Public Service Commission published its advertisement for the Civil Services Examination, 2005 on 4th December, 2004. In the said advertisement, the last date for receipt of applications from prospective candidates in respect of this examination was indicated as 3rd January, 2005. However, for candidates residing abroad and in certain specified remote areas including Andaman and Nicobar Islands the prescribed last date was 10th January, 2005.
Now, keeping in view the large scale disruption on account of Tsunami affecting certain parts of the country, the Commission have decided to extend the last dates for receipt of applications for the Civil Services Examination, 2005 as follows:
