Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi, Chief of the Air Staff visited the NCC Republic Day Camp-2005 in Delhi Cantonment today ON 21 Jan 05. Addressing the Cadets, Chief of Air Staff disclosed that he himself was an ex NCC cadet and he has joined Indian Air Force through NCC entry. He had all the praises for the excellent work being done by the NCC in grooming the future leaders of our country. He said, with NCC in the helms of affairs in grooming youths the future of our country is in the safe hands.

The Cadets of NCC also presented a cultural programme in the honour of the Chief of Air Staff. The Chief of Air Staff presented a rolling Chief of Air Staff trophy made of pure silver. This trophy will be given every year to the best Senior Division (Boy) cadet of Air Wing during PM's Rally.

Earlier on his arrival at the Camp a guard of honour was presented by a contingent of smartly turned out NCC cadets drawn from all the three wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force. Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi also visited the Motivation Hall, the Flag Area, the Ship and Air Modeling Room and interacted freely and in informal way with the cadets.

Lt Gen MC Bhandari, Director General NCC, while giving an overview of NCC activities thanked the Chief of Air Staff for his visit to the camp.

It is pertinent to mention that total 1,800 Cadets, both boys and girls drawn from 16 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the Country and 09 officers and 80 cadets from seven friendly foreign countries are participating in this RD Camp. The cadets will take part in a number of activities like Cultural, National Integration Awareness and Institutional Training Competitions. The camp will culminate with the prestigious Prime Minister's Rally to be held on Jan 27th,, 2005.
