The Special Judge, CBI, Patna, Shri Mungeshwar Sahu has convicted
Dr.K.P. Singh, Chief Medical Officer & Inchage Additional
Director, Central Govt. Health Scheme (CGHS), Patna and sentenced
him to undergo RI for two years and a fine of Rs.10,000/-
finding him guilty under different sections of Prevention
of Corruption Act in a CBI case.
CBI had registered a case against Dr. Singh in which it was
alleged that he had demanded and accepted Rs.2,000/- as illegal
gratification and one Konica Camera from the complainant on
17.10.1995 for issuing favourable orders for the transfer
of the complainant from Polyclinic Budha Colony, Patna to
CGHS Dispensary, Kankarbagh, Patna. After completion of the
investigation, CBI filed a charge-sheet against Dr.K.P. Singh
on 5.5.1997 under-sections 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of P.C.
Act,1988.
