rural development ministry releases rs. 216 lakh for sector reform project in dimapur district of nagaland

The Government of India had taken up Sector Reform Project in Dimapur District of Nagaland in the year 2000 with an estimated cost of Rs.594 lakh. Out of which, Rs.333 Lakh had been released by Government of India. The project have been sanctioned by the Government of India. The project was lying half way through. Keeping in view the importance of the project, a Review Mission was sent from Government of India, which recommended release of Rs.216.76 lakh for completion of the pending scheme.

Dr. Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, Union Minister of Rural Development approved the release of Rs.216.76 lakh for completion of this Sector Reform Project. On completion of this project, 55 villages under Nuland RD Block shall be benefited.

The Minister of Rural Development has directed to undertake review of the on-going Sector Reform Project and to ensure that they are completed at the earliest.

Department of Water Supply, Ministry of Rural Development has now modified the Sector Reform Programme into Swajaldhara. New projects sanctioned will henceforth be sanctioned on the pattern of Swajaldhara.
