The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal for extension by three months of the tenure of the High Level Committee inquiring into the incident of fire in Sabarmati Express at Godhra. The present tenure expires on March 4, 2005. The extension of tenure would enable the Committee to complete its investigations and finalise its report. The Committee has submitted an Interim Report and would complete its findings within the extended tenure.
