The Projects and Development India Limited (PDIL) is expected to achieve greater heights in its performance during the coming years. The revival scheme for the Company has been approved by BIFR and Government of India has extended all the reliefs and concessions envisaged in the approved revival scheme. Reliefs and concessions as envisaged in the revival scheme has been implemented and the net worth of the Company has become positive. During the year 2003-04, the Company witnessed major restructuring in the manpower and altogether 1188 manpower has been released under VRS/VSS. Now the manpower has come down to 500. The Company has executed engineering jobs worth Rs.25.69 crore in this year and secured engineering jobs to the order of Rs. 47.29 crore. The Company recorded a turnover of Rs.49.12 crore during 2003-04 as compared to Rs.30.86 crore during the previous year. The Company earned a net profit of 8.69 crore during the last financial year against a loss of Rs.37.59 crore in 2002-03,

Basically, a design engineering and consultancy organization, PDIL came into existence on 1.4.1978 as a result of the reorganisation of the Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited and the National Fertilizers Limited. Its main activities include design engineering, procurement and supervision of construction/commissioning of fertilizers , Chemicals and other allied projects.
