The Union Cabinet today approved the proposal for seeking leave of the Rajya Sabha to withdraw the Private Security Guards and Agencies (Regulation) Bill, 1994 and introduction of a new Bill, namely, the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Bill, 2005 in the ensuing Session of Parliament, with some modifications.
The new legislation seeks to regulate the working of Private Security Agencies and ensure that they work within the ambit of law and are accountable to a regulatory mechanism.
