Passengers can now check the earliest dates on which seats and berths are available at the station of their choice. This information will enable the users to plan for the journeys so that they are able to purchase confirmed tickets. The use of information technology has enabled the passengers to access current position. He is no longer required to stand in the queue and check the availability of seats. Earlier, this information was printed in the newspapers, which suffered from the drawback of being outdated.
In addition, the availability of position of seats and berths on all major trains and major stations for the next seven days, enables the passengers to assess the chances of getting seats on a train.
