National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the public sector aluminium major, has produced 441,011 tonnes of bauxite in January, 2005 against a target of 435,000 tonnes. The company produced 31,062 tonnes of aluminium cast metal against a target of 30,700 tonnes during the month. Against a target of 133,500 tonnes, the company produced 127,200 tonnes of Alumina hydrate in January 2005. The net generation of power from its captive power plant was 461.90 million units, out of which 8.62 million units was given to GRIDCO.
During the month, the company sold 65,342 tonnes of alumina / hydrate against a target of 62,500 tonnes. In January, it exported 12,065 tonnes and sold 15,199 tonnes of aluminium in the domestic market.
