Indian Railways have launched a pilot project for implementation of Mobile Maintenance Units (MMUs) for track maintenance in Allahabad and Kota Divisions.
The objective of introduction of MMU is to mechanize the day-to-day track maintenance activities for better quality and safety with reduced manpower.
Following successful trials and test, the entire ‘A’ route on Indian Railways will be covered in phases.
