medical bulletin on the president’s health

President Dr. A.PJ. Abdul Kalam sustained a fracture on the neck of humerus (shoulder) on the right side on February 6, 2005. He was admitted in Army Research & Referral Hospital.

Maj. Gen. L.P. Sadhotra, Commandant of the hospital has issued the following medical bulletin today:

"His Excellency, the President of India has sustained fracture neck of humerus (shoulder) RT on 06 February, 2005. He was examined by a panel of Orthopaedic Surgeons from Army as well as Civil, viz. Brig B.K. Singh SM and Dr. B. Shankaran, Dr. B.N. Prasad, Dr. S. Bhan and Dr. Ashok Raj Gopal.

Today morning under short general anaesthesia closed reduction of the fracture has been done. His Excellency had uneventful recovery and is cheerful. His condition is fine".
