The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Shri M.K. Narayanan as national Security Adviser w.e.f. 27th January, 2005. The competent authority has also approved that during his tenure as National Security Adviser, Shri Narayanan will have the status of Minister of State in the Government of India.
