The General Managers of all the Zonal Railways have been directed to take special steps to improve cleanliness at stations and in trains. A nationwide cleanliness drive has also been launched.
It has been decided to hold inter-divisional completion to evaluate all the railway divisions by the Zonal Railway Headquarter’s Committees, to infuse a spirit of excellence in cleanliness. Under this system, the best divisions will be given the Cleanliness Efficiency Shield. Best stations will also be selected and awarded.
It has also been decided to fix responsibility on the concerned officials where the cleanliness level is found to be unsatisfactory.
