Indian Railways have started making all out efforts to improve the catering services by serving cleaner, healthier and tastier food to the passengers both at stations and on trains.
To begin with, the Railways have endeavoured to make available wholesome milk and milk products at all catering outlets. Mathas and Lassis are also being served.
The Railways have also begun purchasing dairy products from dairy units of cooperative sector to provide pure and wholesome products to passengers and to give employment opportunities to dairy producers.
As for the other eatables, complete transparency and competitiveness are being ensured to increase the earnings from the catering contracts.
