The Government appreciates the excellent leadership provided by Shri G.N.Bajpai, in making the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) a globally known regulator of the securities market. Under his Chairmanship the technological modernisation of the securities market made further progress when India became one of the few countries to introduce Straight Through Processing (STP) in the market. SEBI has further improved its procedures for enforcing compliance to ensure market integrity and for protecting the interests of investors. The derivatives market in equities has grown and developed smoothly during his tenure. Shri G.N.Bajpai, Chairman, SEBI, completes his tenure today.
