In Rajasthan, gauge conversion works of jmerChittaurgarhUdaipur, Agra FortBandikui and KolayatPhalodi new line have been taken up at an anticipated cost of Rs. 455.18 crores, Rs. 175.03 crores and Rs. 163.93 crores respectively. The works are in full swing.
For AjmerChittaurgarhUdaipur gauge conversion work, Rs. 41.55 crores has been provided in 2004-2005. Till March 2004, Rs. 88 crores has been spent on the project. In the first phase, gauge conversion of ChittaurgarhUdaipur has been taken up and is targeted for completion in the current financial year 2004-2005. The work of AjmerChittaurgarh section has also been taken up wherein earthwork and major and minor bridges are in progress. AjmerChittaurgarh is expected to be completed during 2006-2007.
Gauge conversion of BandikuiBharatpur has been completed and opened for traffic. The work of gauge conversion of BharatpurAgra Fort (Bandikui-Agra Fort) is targeted for completion during 2004-2005. Till March 2004, Rs. 113.78 crores has been incurred on this project. In the current financial year 2004-2005, Rs. 40 crores has been allocted for the project.
For KolayatPhalodi new line, earthwork, ballast supply and construction of bridges are in progress. This project is being funded by the Ministry of Defence and is targeted for completion during 2005-2006. Till March 2004, Rs. 15.55 crores has been incurred. In the current financial year 2004-2005, Rs. 81 crores has been provided.
