The Draft Tender Document towards Subsidy Support from the Universal Service Obligation Fund for provision of Public Tele Information Centres (PTIC) and High Speed Public Tele Information Centres (HPTIC) in a limited number of villages in the specified Secondary Switching Areas through a pilot project has been put up on DoT website www.dot.gov.in for inviting suggestions/comments from interested parties.

A total of 1600 PTICs and 400 HPTICs are proposed to be installed in all the Service Areas. The front loaded subsidy for installation of a Computer System with multimedia facilities and Power Back Up will be reimbursed alongwith the equated annual subsidy over a period of times. The suggestions or the comments on the draft tender document, if any, may be sent on or before 21.2.2005 to Deputy Administrator (Tech.), USF, DoT on FAX No. 0-11-23372157 or on e-mail ddgusf@bol.net.in or jtadmint@bol.net.in.

The Tender document has been prepared on the basis of the Rules framed under Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Act, 2003 for implementation of Universal Service Support.
