The President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, has been discharged from the Army Hospital Research & Referral at 10.30 a.m today.
According to a medical bulletin issued by the hospital, the President has shown good recovery and is in fine health. His right shoulder joint has been immobilised for the time being. After proper healing, physiotherapy will be started. Dr. Kalam visited the Experimental Laboratory, where a demonstration on mannequin (dummy to demonstrate live procedures) was shown to him.
Before his departure, the President met the hospital staff and conveyed his good wishes. He also met a few children at the reception of the hospital.
