Shri Dayanidhi Maran, Minister of Communications & Information Technology will lead a High Level Delegation to France to participate in the Third GSM World Congress from 14th February to 16th February, 2005 at Cannes, France. The delegation will leave India for France tomorrow. The Annual event is being organised by the GSM Association, consisting of all GSM operators across the Globe in which Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is also a member. The GSM World Congress provides opportunity for showcasing India’s phenomenal in the mobile sector during the last three years and the country’s plans for the future. It is expected that more than 30,000 representatives of various network operators, governments and manufacturers from 200 countries will be participating. The event will serve as an umbrella to bring together the various leaders of GSM industry to discuss and debate at length the policy, technology, challenges and other like-issues.
Shri Dayanidhi Maran will also visit London from 17th to 19th February where he will meet the Chairperson of OFCOM, regulator for the United Kingdom communications industries, a replica of TRAI.
