Former Foreign Secretary, Ms. Chokila Iyer took the oath of office and Secrecy as Member, Union Public Service Commission, today. The Oath was administered by the UPSC Chairman, Dr. S. R. Hashim.
Born in June 1942, Ms. Iyer joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1964 and retired as Foreign Secretary to Government of India. In a career spanning nearly 37 years, she held important positions with the Ministry of External Affairs and was also India’s Ambassador to Mexico and Ireland.
