The Railways Protection Force (RPF) has been asked to identity the criminal gangs engaged in the crimes of drugging of unwary passengers on the trains and robbing them of their belongings. They have also been directed to hand such criminals over to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The Railways have taken certain measures to combat the menace of drugging of passengers by educating the public.

Meanwhile, the skills of the RPF have been upgraded by giving them intensive re-orientation training at zonal training schools and RPF Academy. The training capsule is comprehensive and consists of legal provisions regarding arrest, seizure, personal attendance, summons, warrants, handling of prisoners, human rights violation, custodial care, gender justice and juvenile offenders.
