ANDHERI - On November 26. a youth. Sandeep Motilal
Singh was recently arrested in Borivali and has been
kept at Andheri police station. Singh was arrested for
blackmailing and extorting money from a girl whom he
had met online during chat sessions.
The girl a student of Bhavans College, Andheri, is
a resident of Borivali. She met Singh for the first
time at Sarang Hotel, Andheri (E) on April 15, 2004
and spent the night with him at Babul Hotel on April
17, 2004. While at the hotel, Singh took nude photographs
of the girl and started blackmailing her.
The first case of extortion was registered against the
youth at Andheri (E) police station on April 23, 2004.
Singh hails from Agra and his father is an officer in
the Air Force. He was staying at Meerut. Through extortion
the youth had collected more than Rs.50,000 from the
girl which she had paid after selling her mother's ornaments.
When the youth tried to extort money again after eight
months, the girl complained to the police. The police
laid a trap and arrested Singh. The investigation is
on under the guidance of Senior PI Arvind Mahabde of
Andheri by PI Raju Pillai, Pramod Tawade and Dhananjay
Daund.
