Two Iranians arrested for robbing woman of Rs 45,000

Two foreign nationals Landor Afsar (25) and Sameer alais Lala Jaffer (30) have been arrested by the police in case of robbery. The two robbed a woman of Rs.45,000 cash. The police said that the two were part of a trio that help people count money at banks, post offices and later vanish with the cash.

The three-member gang robbed Deepali Cardeiro of Rs 45,000 when she was depositing the money in Janakalyan Sahkari bank. The Andheri Police station SI, Sameer Dhaund said that the members of the gang offered to help Deepali count the money. When she turned them down, they snatched it from her and tried to flee. While Sameer and Afsar were nabbed by a bank staff, Jaffer Irani the third member managed to escape with the money.

Eventually, it was foundrevealed that the three were residents of Ambivali and professional thieves. They have been involved in many such crimes in the MIDC area. A case of robbery has been registered against them, and they have been remanded to police custody for one week. Rajiv Pillai, Dhanunjay Dhund and Pramod Tawade are investigating the case under the guidance of senior officer Arvind Mahavade.
