Abu Salem and Sanjay Dutt could only see each other
but the court is permitting Salem's brother to meet
him.
The designated TADA court in Mumbai granted permission
to Abu Salem's brother Abu Lais to meet the extradited
gangster alongwith his lawyers at the prison later in
the day.
Abu Lais has met Salem earlier once when the latter
was in the CBI custody.
Sanjay Dutt and Abu Salem were present in the same
court room but there was no exchange of words between
them. However, the accused in blasts case who belong
to Dawood gang openly showed their hostility and contempt
towards Salem.
Lais is Salem's only relative to come into the picture
after his extradition from Portugal.
There was speculation that his mother would travel to
Mumbai from their native place Sarai Meer in Uttar Pradesh,
to meet her son, but so far it hasn't happened.
Lais has also filed an application before the State
Human Rights Commission, complaining that Salem is being
tortured by police. It will be heard on 21st December.
