There seems no possibility of a patch up between the
two warring cubs.
Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena executive president,
is now in an aggressive mood. “Those who want
to leave the party can do so.The Shiv Sena is not anybody's
personal property. I am attached to the party and party
alone." Said the Thackeray heir in Nashik.
Meanwhile, holed up in Pune and contrary to morning
newspaper reports, cousin and rebel Raj Thackeray did
not make any comment about his future course of action.
He said he would announce his decision on 6th December.
Uddhav, who had been waiting for Raj to mend fences
till Thursday, after careful planning from Matoshri
chose Raj's stronghold of Nashik to launch his offensive
against the rebel cousin yesterday. Uddhav said that
some people are happy that the Shiv Sena is struggling.
"There is a race amongst many to put an end to
the party. The Congress is playing a dirty trick but
it won't succeed for seven generations," said the
Shiv Sena executive president. He added that the 'Italian
court' had given a contract to 'Afzal Khan' to end the
Shiv Sena, but they are just daydreaming.
However, Raj spent most of his day in confidential
meetings with close associates and advisers, including
historian and Balasaheb's close friend Baba Saheb Purandare.
He refused to speak to the media about his next move.
The only comment he made during a short interaction
with the media was that people had to step into his
shoes to know his state of mind. However, he refused
to make any comment from Pune.
Meanwhile, all the Shiv Sena leaders who have been
persuading Raj to have a meeting with Balasaheb Thackeray
ever since he announced his resignation from all the
posts he held in the Shiv Sena, now seem to have lost
their patience. Ramdas Kadam, the newly-appointed leader
of the opposition in the legislative assembly, commented
on the lack of response from Raj and his chances of
forming a new party: "Raj is not a kid. It is basically
a family matter and Balasaheb will sort it out."
