OSHIWARA: It happened when Susheela Madan (60) resident
of Sindhi Society, Chembur she was alone in their house
on the said day along with two servants Anil Das and
Arun Das.
Anil had been employed with her through an agency
SK Enterprises, based at Oshiwara. Jhantu c/o Sanjay
Jagdishchandra Shah is the owner of this agency.
On the day of the attack, her husband Satayapal, an
ex-army man, was in Pune and her son Sanjeev had gone
to his pharmaceutical shop at Mahim. Her daughter-in-law
had left for work. Even her six-year-old grandson was
out for tuitions.
She was alone with her servants Arun and Anil. Arun
too left the house to buy some groceries from a shop.
To quote her, "At around 3.30pm, I was sleeping
in my bedroom when Anil came to me and threatened me
'Budhiya almira ki chabhi de varnajaan se mar doonga'
(Hand over the locker keys to me or I will kill you).
On seeing me shocked, Anil took the lid of the pressure
cooker and hit me several times on my head. He also
tried to suffocate me to death by using a pillow and
blanket. I thought that this was the last day of my
life and when suddenly the doorbell rang. Anil then
covered me with a blanket and threatened me to keep
quiet while he went to open the door. As Anil observed
that Arun was back, he quickly collected gold ornaments
worth Rs. 60,000 and cash Rs.28,000 from the locker."
When Arun entered the flat he saw Anil behaving in
a suspicious manner. Then came Susheela’s cry
for help, ' koi mujhe bachao'. He ran towards her and
saw that her hands were tied by clothes. He raced after
Anil and almost caught him. Anil hit him and fled away.
He is still absconding.
A police official stated that the address of accused
given in his biodata was fake. A case has been registered
in Chembur police station against the agency who recommended
the servant under Sections 397, 341, 342, 506 (2) and
the owner of the agency, SK Enterprises is in police
custody for interrogation.
