Extradited gangster Abu Salem's girlfriend and the former Bollywood starlet Monica Bedi has been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by a local court in Bhopal in a fake passport case.

Amidst tight security, Bedi was produced before Judge D K Dangi, who sent her to judicial custody till 20th December, prosecution counsel K K Saxena told reporters.

A bail application for Bedi, who was remanded to police custody for two days on December five, was moved and the Judge reserved his order for December nine after hearing both sides, her counsel Sudhir Batra said.

Police has also sought the court's permission for sending Bedi back to Hyderabad from where she had been brought on December four, Superintendent of Police A K Singh said.

Bedi, along with Salem and three others, was accused of procuring passports on forged documents about four years ago.

Judge D K Dangi had issued a production warrant against Bedi, who is facing similar charges in Hyderabad where she was lodged in judicial custody.
