Mumbai: The Shiv Sena leaders seem to have formulated a proposal in yet another attempt to resolve the ongoing battle between the two Thackeray cousins, Uddhav and Raj. As per the offer, both Uddhav and Raj will be given an equal executive and managerial share in the party with separate marked areas to avoid disagreements.

Senior Sena leaders like Pramod Navalkar, Madhur Sarpotdar and Manohar Joshi presented the new blueprint to Raj Thackeray at his Shivaji Park residence, Krishna Bhuvan. The leaders are believed to have insisted upon Raj Thackeray to contemplate the terms of the offer. While both Navalkar and Joshi told the reporters that a formula had been worked out, neither granted further details of the meeting with the estranged Thackeray. They, however, asserted that the matter would be resolved amicably.

It is believed that Raj Thackeray has quite approved the new proposal “in principle”. But with Uddhav Thackeray seeking an unconditional apology for the comments Raj has made against him in public, the proposal may face a hold-up. Raj had resigned from all posts he held in the party on November 27 attacking Uddhav's approach towards issues and charging that the party was being run by a ''coterie of clerks''. He has maintained a low profile ever since and not yet announced his upcoming action.

Sources close to Raj, however, deem this division of power as the right prospect, above the idea of floating a new party. The Sena leaders too feel that an agreeable solution to this family feud would only reassure the average Sainik and work in favour of the saffron organization. Ever since Raj’s walk out from the Sena became public, skepticism and doubt have been encircling the Sena’s future. So much so, that Uddhav’s efforts to make things seem normal have been accepted with a bit of cynicism in most quarters.

Uddhav and Raj are, however, yet to respond to the reconciliation efforts undertaken by the Sena leaders.
