Mumbai: Former Rajasthan Governor Madan Lal Khurana
has confirmed that he has been invited to the BJP’s
national convention in Mumbai, to be held from December
28 to 30. The veteran, at present only a regular member
of the BJP, however, does not figure on the list for
the party’s Executive Meeting scheduled in Mumbai
for December 26 and 27.
BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has referred
to Khurana as “senior BJP leader” and “Former
Delhi Chief Minister”, in his invite to the leader.
“I have received the invitation for the national
convention in Mumbai. But I have not been invited to
the executive meeting”, established Khurana. The
BJP had not invited Khurana to September’s Executive
Meeting in Chennai.
Khurana was temporarily disqualified from the BJP, in
July, for his outbursts against party chief L K Advani
when he had openly asked Advani to make an apology for
the Gujarat violence. Khurana had referred to Prime
Minister, Manmohan Singh’s acknowledgment for
the 1984 riots.
Khurana had consequently expressed remorse and was recalled
to the party as an ordinary member.
