Actor John Abraham was admitted to Lilavati Hospital
in suburban Bandra, Mumbai last night.
Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, who underwent a successful
surgery for 'diverticulitis' of the small intestine
on November 30, is recuperating in the same hospital
and has been shifted out of ICU.
"John Abraham was admitted to the hospital last
night with fever.
Investigations will be carried out," said hospital
spokesperson and vice president Narendra Trivedi.
Abraham has viral fever and bronchitis from the middle
of November, when he was in Kabul shooting for his film
Kabul Express, sources said. It is believed that he
returned earlier than scheduled since he wasn't well
and is now being treated.
In an unrelated incident, John Abraham's girlfriend,
actor Bipasha Basu hurt her knee during a dance rehearsal
for MTV IMMIES scheduled to be aired on Dec 9. Bipasha
when asked said, "I pushed myself too much - like
I always do. I always get so excited about my dance
performances that I push myself too hard. During the
workouts, I realized that I had done something wrong.
The area around my knee started aching, then went numb."
Bipasha apparently has a swelling in her knee caused
by fluid collection and has been advised full
rest till it subsides.
