Shahab Khan on Tuesday night allegedly stabbed Josphine
Dias (56) his mother-in-law at her Shivaji Nagar residence.
On Tuesday night, Khan and his wife, Dias’s
adopted daughter Shainaaz got into a fight. In a fit
of anger Dias slapped Khan. Khan left the house in a
huff and returned few minutes later with a sharp weapon,
and allegedly attempted to stab Shainaaz. In an attempt
to stop him Dias sustained multiple stab wound on her
chest and back.
Dias was admitted to Shatabdi hospital, Shivaji Nagar,
and was later shifted to the female surgical ward at
Rajawadi hospital. Shahab Khan(23) was arrested and
will be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrates
Court, Kurla.
According to sources, Shainaaz had reportedly left
her husband’s house along with her one-year-old
son in July, due his repeated demands for dowry. He
continuously tortured and threatened to murder her if
she failed to fulfill his demand for dowry.
Dias had filed four non-cognizable complaints against
Khan at Shivaji Nagar police station after Khan began
to frequent the Dias household, asking Shainaaz to return.
