Builder arrested in Jain murder case

Virendra Kumar Jhambh, 78 of Forward Construction was arreseted last evening by the anti terrorist squad in the murder of Pradeep Jain that took place ten years ago in 1995. Jhamb, has been arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (Tada) and will be produced before the court of special judge P V Bavkar today. Jhambh is accused of having links with Abu Salem, prime accused in this case.

Jhambh reportedly has eeb having health problems and may be admitted to a hospital. Jhambh was picked up from his luxorious flat in Juhu yesterday. He is the fourth person accused in this case. Pradeep Jain reportedly had made a payment of one crore rupees but was murdered inspite of it. Jhamb allegedly had close links with the underworld, buying land from them and selling it to builders. Jhamb is one of the oldest builders in Juhu, owning cinema in Andheri and a hotel in Juhu, besides being a landlord of several buildings in Mumbai city.

Pradeep Jain's brother is also providing the Anti terrorist squad with information about the builder-underworld nexus.
