An NRI from South Africa, in Mumbai seeking work in Bollywood,
was allegedly drugged, abducted, raped, beaten, and dumped
outside her house in Lokhandwala Colony earlier this week.
A case under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code has been
registered at the Vile Parle police station.
The girl had gone to the Bawa International hotel located
in Vile Parle, a stone’s throw from Santacruz airport.
She went to pub Avalon, a part of Bawa International, where
two young men accosted her. She didn’t respond to their
overtures. A little later, she went to loo leaving her liquor
glass at the bar.
She thinks that the two men drugged her drink. She became
drowsy. The same men offered to drop her home but took her
somewhere outside the city and raped her repeatedly. The woman
was later dropped near her house.
