Big B declared fit, to be discharged

News of Amitabh Bachchan’s recovery is bringing smiles in the Bollywood industry. Mr. Bachchan’s hospitalization put the film industry on the edge. All his pending film and other assignments are said to cost a whooping amount of Rs. 250 Crore and now that there are signs of him getting back on field the industry is finally breathing a sigh of relief.

The Big ‘B’, who was recuperating at the Lilavati Hospital, had completely recovered from a life-threatening illness. He made a satisfactory progress following the treatment, which he received since November 29. He was flown in to Mumbai from New Delhi, when he experienced a severe abdominal pain. On investigation, the doctors decided to operate as they discovered he suffered from jejunal diverticulum perforation (an ailment of the small intestine).

Reading out a statement at a press conference held at Lilavati hospital, vice-president Dr Narendra Trivedi told media, ''Mr Bachchan was flown to Mumbai when he experienced severe abdominal pain. He was promptly investigated and a diagnosis of Jejunal (a part of small intestine) diverticulum perforation was made. After careful assessment of every aspect of his health, the team of treating doctors decided to operate''

Sources say that He has recovered well form the operation and can be discharged at any moment. He was kept on a liquid diet after theoperation but now is back on a solid food diet. The superstar is eager to get back to work and has consulted an astrologer from Benares concerning the date he should get discharged from the hospital. The Bachchan family is a devote believer in astrology and the surgery performed on Amitabh was also at an astrologically favorable time. This Thursday may be the day when Amitabh decides to go home.

Film analysts say that news of his discharge has brought about an atmosphere of relief as usually when Amitabh sneezes, it sends a chill down the film industry's spine. This is since, so much is invested on the
megastar.
