The Andheri police conducted a raid on Mayuri Bar &
Restaurant on Sahar Road in Andheri (east) and nabbed
44 people including 23 girls allegedly on charges of
obscenity.
44 people — 23 girls, 10 customers and 11 hotel
staff including a partner of the hotel, Hari Prasad
Shetty — were arrested under Sections 294 (obscenity),
353 (prevent to the government employee to discharge
his/her duty), 3,4,5 and 7 of Prevention of Immoral
Traffic Act (PITA) and 33 (W) Bombay Police Act.
The accused were produced before the Andheri Metropolitan
Court on Friday where they were remanded in custody
till January 6,2006,"
