Spotlight is again on Aishwarya Rai.
The film that is really going to drag Ash in to controversy
is Prithviraj-Sanjukta. Two filmmakers, Raj kumar Santoshi
and Chandraprakash Diwedi, have announced the same film
and both have approached her to play Sanjukta. Pragmatic
to the core, Ash is expected to buy Santoshi project.
In the past, she has declined offers from both.
At the moment she is shooting for J P Dutta's remake
of Umrao Jaan, and has awed everyone around with her
beauty and non-stop giggles. Umrao was earlier played
by Rekha, touted as gorgeous - but having grown from
an ugly duckling - unlike Ash who has been the symbol
of beauty. During the making of Umrao Jaan, Rekha used
to say that she doesn’t understand what her director
Muzaffar Ali was making but went along. She got the
National Award for that. Whether Ash understand the
concept of Dutta is not known, though.
Ash has just completed the shoot of Hollywood's "The
Last Legion" where she plays a third lead. The
shooting of "Umrao Jaan" ends in Janaury and
then she will focus on Ashutosh Gowraiker's "Jodha-Akbar".
Ash is also doing the sequel to Dhoom, temporarily
called Dhoom 2.
