Advani Quits Party Post

Advani handed over his resignation to party vice-president Venkaiah Naidu. He, however, will continue to occupy the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Rajnath Singh will take over the party presidentship on 2nd January at BJP headquarters in New Delhi.

Advani's resignation came two days after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced his decision to withdraw from electoral politics.
