Aamir Khan got married to Kiran Rao at a simple civil
ceremony at his residence in Bandra, a Mumbai suburb,
this evening.
The ceremony, which was attended by the star's family
and select friends including Rani Mukerji. Kunal Kapoor
(Aamir's Rang De Basanti co-star) and Amin Hajee (Bagha,
from Lagaan).
A Dalvi, a registrar from Mumbai Marriage Bureau,
confirmed that the wedding took place at 7 pm. The witnesses
to the wedding were family members.
Although Aamir -- dressed informally in a t-shirt
and cap -- left his residence a couple of times during
the day, he refused to speak to the reporters gathered
outside. He appeared to be overseeing the arrangements.
This is Aamir's second marriage. He divorced his first
wife Reena Dutta in 2002.
Aamir met Kiran when she was assisting Ashutosh Gowariker
during the making of Lagaan.
After the Panchgani parties, Aamir and Kiran will go
to Bangalore, where Kiran's parents will host a reception
for them.
